How we form leaders

Deep learning with action as its intent. Formation that produces practice, change, and outcomes communities can see.

Who we serve

Leaders emerge at every stage of life.

Our work is for leaders whose work is guided by a Christian mission framework.

That includes ordained and authorized clergy, lay leaders, bivocational leaders, and community, nonprofit, and civic leaders. We hold an intergenerational imagination: young leaders and third-stage adults, grandparents and elders, all have leadership to offer.

Our model

Focused initiatives of 12 to 18 months

Long engagements can exhaust communities and stall momentum. We work in shorter cycles with clear goals, deliverables, and evaluation checkpoints, then reassess together before beginning again.

Listen

Every initiative starts with listening to the community and mapping the efforts already under way.

Convene

Learning cohorts and gatherings connect leaders facing similar questions in different places.

Coach

Pastoral coaching helps leaders turn new learning into lasting practice in their own setting.

Regrant

Resources flow toward under-resourced communities so their innovations can grow and last.

Frameworks

Tools for belonging

We integrate theological reflection with research from the social sciences. Two frameworks developed by our founder shape much of our work.

Constitutive Belonging

Belonging as the ground of faith

Constitutive Belonging treats belonging and human thriving as the purpose of a faith community’s life together. A congregation can serve as a secure, intergenerational base for its people, and when it attends to belonging, it reshapes its own convictions from the inside.

WARM

A practice for responding well

WARM gives leaders and caregivers a simple rhythm for meeting the questions and needs of the people in their care.

Our aim is leadership capacity. Communities should leave each initiative more able to carry the work themselves.
